Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a popular public speaker. She founded Feminist Frequency which is a website that features videos and comments on the representations of women in pop media. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian as well as an American feminist media critique. Feminist Frequency is a non-for profit site for education that investigates female representations in popular cultural narratives is founded and is directed by Sarkeesian. Destroying stereotypes about women are the main goals of her work. But, she also discusses issues of specifically targeted harassment online against women and other minorities which have been excluded. Sarkeesian, who has the degree of Master's in Political and Social thought in the field of social and political thought from York University, is a well-known public speakers. She has delivered speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. From an early age she was intrigued by the issue of gender identity and feminist thinking. When she was still in school, in 2009, she created her Feminist Frequency Website. She had a plan to launch a web series on the gender roles in video games and found herself the target of a harassment online campaign. However the attack could have been a hindrance, rather it was a boost to her determination as a feminist media critic. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards for her numerous notable contributions to the field of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist for a long time and was the creator of Feminist Frequency. This educational nonprofit explores women's representations in the pop-culture narratives.
