Lee Roy Selmon's life is one of football scholarship, family work and involvement in the community. His first family is that he's the youngest out of nine kids raised within Eufala through Lucious Selmon. Two football. He is among three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the United States. During his three-year tenure as Oklahoma's starting quarterback The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and captured two national titles. As an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third season in the year 1975. Selmon graduated with a degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer hours per week during college. He moved to Tampa after graduation, and playing for the Buccaneers for nine seasons and made three times all-pro. His career in business began. He began his career in 1988. was working as an Account Relation Manager at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that, in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top ten outstanding young people throughout the United States. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds when he played college football. In 1975, he was on the team. group. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an assistant director of sports. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988, and the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
